In fine conditions, Calan initially completed two runs on used tyres with the session interrupted by 4 red flags. After 60 minutes he commenced a run on new tyres, but a further red flag halted the session for an extended time before his preparation lap was completed.
With the temperature rising and the peak conditions of the track then gone, the team switched the plan to complete a full race run on used tyres with a full fuel load giving Calan his first valuable exposure to the feel of the car in these conditions.
The afternoon session started with a full sprint race length run of 29 laps which progressed very well.
