Experiencing qualifying for the first time, and still learning the warm up procedure and adapting from the hard tyre in practice to the soft, Calan has put together an excellent result for Round 1.
On the first set of tyres he completed 2 push laps and after each was just inside the top 10.
On his final single lap set of tyres he improved by 0.5 to be P8 at the time and did look to be finished on P10 for reverse Pole. However two late laps saw this end up P12 with a 1:41.3 and 0.7 off Pole.
With much development still to come a strong first qualifying result and best of the debutants.
