Final day of testing in Bahrain today, and another fine and warm day with thankfully a little less wind and certainly less dust in the air.

In the morning session we completed some longer runs and also a few practice starts once again before heading out on a new tyre run before the track surface temperature increased too much to be beyond its best. As luck would have it, as I completed my prep laps on the tyres, out came a red flag. On a positive, at least it wasn’t halfway through my push lap, but it still cost the best of the tyre by the time we resumed and I pushed again. Also, it meant the track was that little bit warmer. Nevertheless, I managed to go quicker than yesterday with a 1:47.5.

In the afternoon session we prepared some brakes in the early laps, and then completed another race run before a final push to end the test with another new set at the end of the session. Again I managed a 1:47.5 which this time was good enough to push up to P16 for the session.

Overall, I think it has been a very positive first test at this level, where we have moved forward in every session. Certainly I know there is more to learn in the tyre, but that is coming and I am very much looking forward to the race in a couple of weeks.

Thank you to my engineer Mihai who has been great to work with, and thank you to all the team at Jenzer Motorsport.
