Next week Calan will get his first taste of driving a “Wings and slicks” car as he tests a Formula 4 car for the first time! This fantastic opportunity is thanks to CAMS and the invitation of leading Australian Formula 4 team Dream Motorsport. Team Race Engineer Wayne Mackie said “ I’ve been keeping an eye on Calan’s progress for some time, and have been impressed with his approach to testing, racing and outstanding results. His maturity and effort he makes with his sponsors is also impressive, and shows he could be the full package”.
Calan is very much looking forward to the opportunity, “I am really looking forward to my upcoming test in the Formula 4. It will be a great experience and I can’t wait to get in the car and feel how it is to drive”.
Earlier in the week Calan, along with a few other young Perth drivers, will also be out on the track at Barbagallo in his Formula Ford in a closed session with Cameron McConville, Karl Reindler from CAMS along with Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo whilst he is in Perth.
