I am very excited about Round 5 of the Euroformula Open Championship coming up at Silverstone in just over 2 weeks. It will be great to have a home round for the team, and certainly what will feel like a home round for me being in my “home away from home” in the UK. I have a lot of family and friends over here, and hopefully quite a few will be able to come along and see me race which will be fantastic.
Silverstone is another iconic Formula 1 circuit which I have grown up watching many Grand Prix on, and I was lucky enough to be able to watch last year’s F1 race here live. I especially can’t wait to tackle the super fast and famous section of corners at Maggots and Becketts. Below is a great video showing F1 through the years taking this complex of corners on.
Practice is on Friday August 31, with qualifying and a race each day over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of September.
I have been training hard over the break, both in Perth and now back with the team at Fortec in the UK. I’ll be working closely with Tom Toovey running over plenty of footage and notes, and of course getting in some good hours on the sim to get a solid feel for the circuit.
