PREPARATIONS GOING WELL IN HUNGARY

Conditions are clear and very hot here in Hungary, which given this is already a very physically demanding circuit to begin with 14 tight twisty corners one after another, is certainly testing the fitness levels of all the drivers.

On Thursday we had private practice, with a 4 hour session of running. I completed 57 laps which was outstanding preparation. I was pleased to be on the pace straight away when all of the field would have been running used tyres for at least the first half of the session. When we switched to new at the very end, I struggled with a little understeer, however we were confident that we knew where we could improve this.

Friday was official practice with two sessions, FP1 and FP2. FP1 went really well and we were competitive on times throughout. At the end of the session we sacrificed the time to set further lap times to focus on practice starts which was very valuable and went well.

FP2 was strong, the car felt fantastic and I finished P7 of the 18 drivers and we are feeling well within range.

Looking forward to Qualifying and Race 1 tomorrow!
