Free practice 1, 2 and 3 today.
Free Practice 1 started really well heading out on the tyres from the end of yesterday with a decent amount of running now on them, as would have the majority of the field. I was pleased with our pace in this first half of the session where I was running in the top 5.
For the second half of the session we came in for new tyres for the first time. The team have prepared a great car which felt fantastic with the new tyre grip, and in my first flying lap I was .45 of a second up on my best time in just the first sector. Then unfortunately the session was halted with a red flag before I could complete that lap.
FP2 was similar, once again starting on the older tyres and then coming in to put on the set which were new in FP1. Once again after a quick first sector on the better tyres we had an issue. This time it was a return of the exhaust problem from yesterday which aborted my lap and session. Whilst frustrating, at least the issue (which was not in the control of the team) has now been rectified. All the team at MTEC worked really hard to fix it all prior to FP3.
FP3 went well without issue, other than the session being interrupted by two more red flags. All went well for me however, and I finished the session in P9 with some good consistent lap times.
All is ready for tomorrow with Qualifying and Race 1 of which the TV coverage will be streamed live at https://youtu.be/ATNds2-rf6c.
