Next weekend I will head over to NSW to compete in my first Formula 3 race event at Wakefield Park on the 17th and 18th of February. This will not be a championship round as the calendar for this is in the process of being revised to start later in the year.
The event at Wakefield is known as the Open Wheel Festival, and provides the perfect opportunity for me to work with my team Gilmour Racing on my preparation in the F3 car under race conditions. We are expecting to complete plenty of laps in the car during practice on the Friday followed by qualifying and racing on Saturday.
I am very excited that my team mate for the event will be the 2015 Australian Formula 3 Champion Jon Collins. I first met Jon at the first round of the 2015 Championship at Sandown when I was invited to spend the weekend with the team, so it is amazing that he will now be my team mate in my first F3 event. I’ll be looking to learn all I can through working with him across the weekend.

I am also looking forward to meeting the team at the Mercure Canberra hotel, who are putting us up over the weekend and are another of my accommodation sponsors. The rooms and hotel look amazing and I am very much looking forward to spending some time there making sure I am nice and rested in the evenings for the busy days on the track!
