Calan Williams will test with Euroformula team Fortec Motorsport in Barcelona next month, at the famous Formula 1 Circuit de Catalunya. The test is over 2 days and is a Euroformula Open scheduled test in a Euroformula Open-specification F3 car. The majority, if not all, teams are expected to be in attendance.
“I seriously can’t wait,” said Calan.
“It’s going to be an incredible experience to drive on an iconic track like that.”
“I’ve grown up watching Formula 1 races at Barcelona, so to have the opportunity to go there and actually drive there myself is amazing.”
Euroformula Open is an F3 series based in Spain which races across Europe, and Calan is confident that his experience in Australia has provided him with the ideal preparation to make this step.
“The experience I now have in a Formula 3 car will be invaluable when I get to the test,” he said.
“The car I was running this season is the closest I can get to the car I’ll be testing.
“I was running an F311 here, and it’s an F312 for Euroformula Open, so it’s just the next model up.
“There’s a lot of effort and hard work happening behind the scenes at the moment as we move toward finalising the plans for next year, but this is definitely a sign of moving forward in a positive way.”
