Calan Williams’ 2022 FIA Formula 2 Championship campaign will commence this week with Trident Motorsport as they head to Bahrain for the first official tests March 2 – 4.
It has been a busy off season for Calan, with just a couple of weeks off over the Christmas and New Year period before working hard between the Formula Medicine training facility and the Trident Motorsport team base, both in Italy.
“Obviously continuing to develop my fitness levels for the Formula 2 car has been a big focus, along with the work on the mental side with the amazing team at Formula Medicine”, said Calan.
In the weeks at the Trident base, Calan has been preparing thoroughly with the team, which has also included some solid training KZ shifter karts.
“For me, what makes karting a great workout is the fact that everything happens very quickly. You can put on some very grippy tires and you have some G-Force too. It is really a great workout especially on the mental side of it: you get used to reacting quickly and staying awake, sharp.”
Calan will soon leave for Bahrain and will be looking forward to gaining valuable testing time on the circuit with the team ahead of Round 1 at the same venue March 18 – 20.
