A great end to the weekend with a 5th place finish in Race 2 having started from P8 on the grid.
Once again we were fortunate with the rain staying away for Qualifying which was early in the morning on the program. The session started well for us on my first set of tyres setting a decent lap time early. On my second flying lap, I set a personal best first sector and once again in the second sector to be nearly 4 tenths up on my eventual qualifying time at that point. Late in the lap however a red flag interrupted the session meaning I was unable to complete that lap.

On the second set of tyres I once again set a quicker lap time, but narrowly exceeded track limits at one point so had that lap deleted. In my final lap I was up 4 tenths of a second again in sectors 1 and 2, but unfortunately this time made an error in the last corner. So in the end, I finished P8 on the grid for Race 2.

I got away really well off the line to immediately pick up a position into turn 1, and then got straight into the slip stream of Christian Hahn down the long back straight. Into the hard braking corner I was able to duck to the inside and make the move stick to move into 6th position. Two corners later I made a move up the inside of Jack Doohan and held him out on the dirty side of the track to take 5th position.
From here I was once again on the tail of Lukas Dunner and again we stretched a long gap back to the rest of the field. I pushed he and Lundqvist ahead of him the entire race, but in the end finished just over a second behind in 5th place, and a very good result of Championship points.

This has been an excellent weekend for the team, and I want to thank Mick, Tom, Dave, Kaleb, Emma and Neil for the huge amount of work over the last couple of weeks and for consistently giving me an outstanding car to drive. Given that this has been my first time at this circuit, we are really pleased with the results.
Thank you to my team of investors in my racing back home, who as always I want to express my appreciation for every opportunity they give me to pursue my goals. Thanks to all my sponsors Lazersafe, High Energy Service, Online Logistics Solutions, The Wealth Designers, Edith Cowan University, Grand Toyota, Fullworks Firesafety, Inspired Insurance Services, Signarama, Rvend, Walker Wayland, F45 Hillary’s and Trizone.
A big thanks to my Mum, brother Sam, and all the family from the UK who have been over to support me. Sam has also used his media talents to provide a lot of coverage and material on social media over the last two rounds which has been great.
I have had many messages and a great deal of support over the weekend, so thank you everyone, I really appreciate it.
We are really moving forward, and I can’t wait for the next round at Silverstone which is a bit like a “second home round” for me, and obviously a home round for Fortec. First though, a mid season break, and a couple more weeks home in Perth!
